Kilian Tools and Carbide Cutters
Canadian woodturners Don Thur and Russ Lacombe collaborated to create a group of Kilian Tools and carbide cutters to allow a wider range of the woodturning community to access a superior quality tool at a very reasonable cost. There will be no retail network in which to purchase our tools; they will only be available by purchase through this website or direct contact. Kilian Tool Set with 1/2" Shaft
The 1/2" (12.7mm) shafts are Grade 304 Stainless Steel with the corners machined to fit in a handle drilled to 5/8" x 3" (15.9mm x 76.2mm)--the size of the tang, and CNC-machined to fit the individual cutter.
Kilian Tool Set with 3/8" Shaft
The 3/8" (9.5mm) shafts are Grade 304 Stainless Steel with the corners machined to fit in a handle drilled to 1/2" x 3" (12.7m x 76.2mm)--the size of the tang, and CNC-machined to fit the individual cutter.
Replacement Cutters
This grade of cutter is exceptionally sharp and retains its edge for a remarkably long turning life. We recommend cutting at centre, otherwise these tools may become too aggressive.
